Let It Dry
In this series of paintings, you will see portraits of clay sculptures that aren’t finished yet.
In my opinion, there is more beauty in the rawness of an unpolished work than in a perfectly realistic one.
You can also interpret it metaphorically.
Most of the time, people in life try so hard to make something out of it.
Take, for example, people at a protest — many of them are so full of emotion, so eager to make the world a better place.
Most of them don’t even realize that they are already making the world more beautiful through their intentions.
I would like to inspire those people to take a break sometimes,
and to recognize the beauty they are already bringing into the world.
Just like my unfinished portraits, their movement itself is already a work of art.
Sometimes you just have to let it dry — even when it’s not finished yet.
